Bury St Edmunds, UK – October 21st , 2009 – EASY SOFTWARE UK, Europe’s foremost supplier of integrated document management, workflow and archive solutions, has today announced its support for Windows 7, the latest version of Microsoft Windows®, which it unveiled for the first time at the recent DMS Expo in Germany.
Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22nd this year with general retail availability set for October 22nd less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7’s server counterpart, Windows Server® 2008 R2, is slated for release about the same time. Unlike its predecessor, which introduced a large number of new features, Windows 7 is intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible.
EASY SOFTWARE recently highlighted its support and integration for Windows 7 at DMS Expo in Germany. At the event visitors were treated to a demonstration of EASY xSHARE™ which now supports a Windows 7 integration. Demonstrations included a search on a local Windows 7 client accessing and retrieving archived content stored on Microsoft SharePoint. EASY xSHARE demonstrated its ability to enable organisations to leverage their investment in Microsoft SharePoint as a seamless interface to the corporate content stored securely within EASY ENTERPRISE™.
EASY ENTERPRISE takes advantage of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and uses tight integration to provide:
Seamless, easy access to archived documents stored in SharePoint
- Improved system performance of Microsoft SharePoint
- Secure and compliant storage of corporate content
- Intelligent access to corporate resources through Microsoft SharePoint
Speaking of EASY’s Microsoft 7 integration, Tony Cheung, operations director at EASY UK said ‚ “Our German heritage of quality and strong engineering shines through when it comes to keeping ahead of technical innovations and making sure our customers benefit from newest upgrades and operating systems. It is hardly surprising therefore that we embraced Windows 7 directly into our product set so early in its launch cycle to ensure that EASY users continue to have fast, easy, robust and scaleable document management solutions.“
